Florida Launch · Summer 2026

Every boat needs maintenance. Nobody tracks it well.

The marina knows some of it. The owner forgets most of it. The mechanic logs none of it. DocksideIQ creates one verified, role-secured record — anchored to a weatherproof QR sticker — that every authorized party can access, and no one else can.

The problem

"Every day at the yard, the same problem repeats — a vessel arrives for service and nobody knows the engine serial number, the oil filter part number, or when the impeller was last changed. The mechanic wastes hours. The parts get ordered wrong. The boat sits for two weeks on a two-hour job. The owner is furious."

How it works

One sticker.
One record.
Every party at the dock.

A weatherproof QR sticker goes on the vessel. A role-based secure app controls who sees what. Every service is timestamped, verified, and permanently tied to that hull — not buried in a glovebox or lost on a clipboard.

01

Sticker is bonded to the vessel

UV-laminated, weatherproof vinyl — hull, dock box, or helm panel. Each sticker is pre-registered to one specific boat. A stranger scanning it sees a download prompt and nothing else.

02

Credentials gate every record

The QR is not a link — it's an authenticated deep link into the platform. Owners see their full history. Marina staff see their fleet. Mechanics see only boats they've serviced. Zero data leakage by design.

03

Service logged in under a minute

Mechanic scans the sticker, selects service type, enters hours and parts, saves. Record is verified, timestamped, and instantly visible to the owner — no paperwork, no delay.

04

Reminders fire before anything breaks

DocksideIQ tracks service intervals and sends push and email alerts before maintenance is overdue. Owners stay ahead. Marinas stay protected. Mechanics stay booked.

Platform capabilities

Built by a marine engineer.
Designed for every stakeholder.

Secure QR Sticker System

Weatherproof, UV-laminated vinyl in three variants: dark navy for hulls, white for cabins, custom marina-branded for Elite. No hardware. No installation. No complexity.

Verified Service Log

Oil changes, impeller swaps, haul-outs, generator overhauls — every entry timestamped with engine hours, parts used, and technician identity. Permanent. Tamper-proof.

Automated Service Reminders

Interval-based push and email alerts fire before maintenance is due — not after the engine overheats, not after the warranty voids, not after the survey fails.

Marina Fleet Dashboard

All vessels. All slips. All service status — overdue, upcoming, current — on any device, from anywhere. The operations view marina managers have needed for decades.

Mechanic Portal & Invoicing

Mobile mechanics log service directly into the vessel's verified record — branded reports, invoice tools, and completion notifications to owners. The first professional digital tool built for marine technicians.

Resale-Ready PDF Export

One tap generates a complete, survey-grade service history document. Documented maintenance history is the single most powerful tool in any vessel sale — and almost no seller has one.

Security architecture

The QR code is not
a link. It's a gatekeeper.

An authenticated deep link — not a webpage. Scanning without credentials surfaces nothing. Role-based access is enforced at the platform level, not the application layer.

🔐

Role-Based Access Control

Every user is verified and role-assigned before touching any record. Roles cannot be self-upgraded — they are granted by the platform based on verified credentials.

📋

Full Immutable Audit Trail

Every action — entry, view, edit, export — is timestamped with the verified user identity. Nothing is anonymous. Every record holds up to survey and legal scrutiny.

🌊

Engineered for the Marine Environment

UV-laminated weatherproof vinyl stickers tested for saltwater, UV exposure, and Florida heat. QR scan quality verified at 6 inches, 1 foot, and 3 feet before production.

Why DocksideIQ

The alternative is a
legal pad and a prayer.

Generic maintenance apps serve individual owners but ignore the marina and the mechanic. Marina management software handles slip billing but not service records. Paper logbooks do nothing. DocksideIQ is the only platform that connects all three parties in one verified system.

35 years in the marine industry

The founder didn't read
about this problem. He lived it.

From U.S. Coast Guard Engineering to Viking Yachts Final Assembly to marine insurance investigations to active daily yacht repair — Joseph Gielarowski has worked every role in the marine industry except the one that should have existed: the person who actually keeps track of it all.

1983–1987

U.S. Coast Guard — Engineering Department

United States Coast Guard · Honorably Discharged

Maintained Main Diesel Engines, Reduction Gears, Ship Service Generators, fuel systems, freshwater systems, and ship's boilers aboard active vessels. Completed Machinery Engineering A School and multiple USCG firefighting and safety programs. This is where the understanding of what real marine maintenance looks like — and what it costs when records don't exist — began.

Military Service
1987–1988

Viking Yachts — Final Assembly Technician

Viking Yachts · St. Petersburg, FL

Installed and aligned main diesel engines, hydraulic and mechanical engine controls, rudder systems, propeller shafts, struts, and full hydraulic steering systems on 55–72 foot motor yachts. Promoted from hull module installation to Final Assembly — one of the most demanding positions on the manufacturing floor — within the first months.

Yacht Manufacturing
1988–1991

Marine Service Technician

Pensacola Marine (Bayliner Dealership) · Pensacola, FL

New boat preparation, rigging, and assembly across multiple brands. Warranty repairs, factory liaison, customer demonstrations, 20-hour checks. Fiberglass and gelcoat restoration.

Marine Dealership
1992–1994

Marine Investigation Technician

The Marine Surveyors Inc. · Fort Lauderdale, FL

Assisted certified marine surveyors with insurance fraud, arson, theft, and death claim investigations across the Southeast U.S. Prepared cause-of-loss reports and damage estimates submitted to insurance carriers. This experience — working directly alongside surveyors at the worst possible outcomes — is exactly why DocksideIQ exists. I know precisely what documentation is missing when a claim goes wrong, and what it costs owners when it does.

Marine Surveying & Investigation
1999–2007

Marine Service Technician

Buck's Island Marina / Bucks Boats · Southside, AL

Complete boat restoration for retail and private customers. Warranty repairs and factory liaison across multiple brands. Boat rigging, assembly, fiberglass and gelcoat repair, dealer prep, and 20-hour checks.

Marina Service
2008–2019

Nuclear Plant Specialist & Journeyman Millwright

Siemens Generating Services · Millwright Local 1192 · U.S. & Puerto Rico

Steam turbine and generator component overhaul at nuclear power plants throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Precision heavy equipment alignment, rigging, and safety compliance under strict OSHA and nuclear-grade standards. The discipline of precision documentation in high-stakes mechanical environments directly informed DocksideIQ's engineering philosophy.

Marine Mechanic & Founder, DocksideIQ

Yacht Repair Facility · North Florida

Currently working daily on yacht repair — diesel engine overhaul, marine generator service, propeller shaft alignments, rudder rebuilds, and major refits. Every day at the yard confirms what DocksideIQ is built to solve. This is not a platform built by someone who read about the marine industry. It is built by someone still working in it.

Joseph Gielarowski

Founder & CEO · DocksideIQ LLC · Marine Mechanical Engineer

I served in the Engineering Department of the U.S. Coast Guard from 1983 to 1987 — living aboard vessel, maintaining Main Diesel Engines, generators, fuel systems, and ship's boilers. After an honorable discharge, I went directly to Viking Yachts in St. Petersburg, where I installed and aligned diesel engines on 55 to 72-foot motor yachts and was promoted to Final Assembly within my first months. From there: marine dealership work, insurance fraud and death claim investigations alongside certified marine surveyors in Fort Lauderdale, marina service operations, precision work at nuclear power plants, and now — active daily marine mechanics at a yacht repair facility in North Florida.

DocksideIQ was not conceived in a boardroom. It was built because I watch the same failure repeat itself every single day at the yard: a vessel arrives with no service history, no engine serial number, no record of the last impeller change. What should be a two-hour job becomes a two-week ordeal. And I worked alongside the marine surveyors who see the other end — boats at resale or after a casualty with zero documentation. Buyers walk. Claims get denied. Values collapse. I built DocksideIQ because I know exactly what it costs when records don't exist — and I've seen it from every angle in the industry.
